Recently one of our valued clients MM Designer Art asked us how to exclude WooCommerce Categories From Afterpay. This came about because they offer Art Work for sale and also for rent – our customer did not want to offer the Afterpay payment options on the rental products.
Many eCommerce websites are using the popular WooCommerce plugin to power their online shops. As more business are moving to an online shopping experience there comes a need to offer easy some easy payment options, one of these is Afterpay.
What is Afterpay?
Afterpay offers retailers a way to give their customers easy payment options – for example Afterpay allows you to split your purchase into 4 installments. This makes it easier for those who may not have good cash flow but want to purchase right away.
Exclude Products From Afterpay
Some online retailers may need to exclude certain products from AfterPay for one reason or another. Doing this with categories in WooCommerce means using a custom piece of code to exclude the chosen category or categories.
Plugin Solution
This may not be easy for users who do not feel comfortable adding code to their website.
We have created a small plugin for WooCommerce that will still need some customisation, but it allows for the theme to be updated without overwriting the customisation made to exclude the products.
The plugin is small and can be installed quite quickly – if it’s not required in the future, it can simply be deactivated and safely deleted.
